JACOBABAD, Oct 4: The deputy to a tribal chief, Ghulam Shabbir Katohar, was kidnapped at Manjhoo Larho en route to his village Katohar in the jurisdiction of Saddar police station on Wednesday night.

Reports said that some unknown armed men intercepted Ghulam Shabbir’s car and kidnapped him at gunpoint near Manjhoo Larho leaving the car behind them.

Mr Shabbir’s family members sought police help after he did not reach his home by 12:30 am and their efforts to find him exhausted.

Police informed the relatives about the abandoned car, which they identified as belonging to Mr Shabbir.

Hundreds of people belonging to Katohar tribe reached Mehar Shah on Thursday morning and blocked the Mehar Shah and bypass roads in protest against the kidnapping and police failure to find their relative.
