GUJRANWALA, Sept 28: A district and sessions judge got recovered two girls of Qila Deedar Singh from police custody and sent them to ‘Darul Aman’.

Falak Sher, Rana Arshad and Muhammad Saleem had allegedly kidnapped the two a few days ago. Police registered a case against the accused on the report of Asjed, their brother, but could not recover them or arrest the accused.

Later, investigation officer Saifullah allegedly took bribe from Asjed, recovered the girls and arrested the accused. However, Saifullah kept the girls in his custody instead of producing them in court. Asjed moved the court for his sisters’ recovery from police.

On Thursday, judge Mazher Hussain got both girls recovered from police and sent them to ‘Darul Aman’. He summoned the station house officer at next hearing.

Passport office: The passport office has stopped issuing passports to people because it is in short supply of the imported lamination paper for the last 15 days, it has been learnt.

As a result, people are facing a great deal of inconvenience because many of them need passports on an urgent basis.

Official sources said the government had told passport offices across the country not to use local lamination paper in preparation of passport booklets because US authorities

had rejected the made-in-Pakistan lamination paper as defective.

They said importers had placed their orders for import of “quality lamination paper” from the US, but it had not reached Pakistan so far.

Criticising the government for depending on the US even for things like lamination paper, passport seekers said Pakistan could import cheap and good quality lamination paper from China or any other country.
