LAHORE, Sept 27: All thirty-two members belonging to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in the Punjab Assembly have submitted their resignations, which will be submitted to the speaker on Oct 2.
Deputy Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly and Leader of the PML-N Rana Sanaullah claimed here on Thursday in a press conference. Flanked by MMA leader Asghar Ali Gujjar, he said three MPAs, who deserted the ruling party and joined the PML-N, had also handed over their resignations.
Rana Sana claimed eight more members of the PML were in touch with him and discussing ways of their resigning from the assembly. He hoped that total resignation tally would rise to 50 in the coming days.
Elaborating his claim, he said that 35 resignations were already with him while eight MMA members had also handed over their resignations to their leadership. “This makes the total 40. Eight PML members are already in touch with me and three more are expected to join us.” Present on the occasion, Asghar Ali Gujjar confirmed that he was in possession of resignations submitted by eight MMA members.
