Delinquent invigilators removed

GUJRANWALA, Sept 25: Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Chairman Masoodul Haq on Tuesday paid surprise visit to various matriculation supplementary exams centres and sacked two invigilators, including a superintendent and a deputy superintendent of the one centre while transferring all invigilators of another over serious charges.

The BISE chairman visited a girls examination centre in Pasrur and found that the centre superintended had not deposited answer sheets in bank immediately after collecting them from candidates and instead kept with them for a short while in violation of the rules. The chairman immediately sacked the superintended and her deputy. Two other invigilators later replaced them.

Similarly, when Mr Haq visited Qila Deedar Singh centre and found all invigilators unsuitable to conduct the exams. They were immediately replaced by a new lot of invigilators.

The BISE chairman also raided Pindi Bhattian examination centre and caught two candidates using unfair means.

Mr Haq has warned all candidates and invigilators that no irregularity would be tolerated at any cost.
