QUETTA, Sept 25: Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai has criticised arrests of APDM leaders and workers in Islamabad and other parts of the country.

“The government cannot block the opposition’s protest movement which will be launched according to the schedule,” he said here.

He said that all political parties of the country were determined to end the role of army and secret agencies in politics forever.

He said that whatever decisions had been taken by the APDM for blocking the way of General Musharraf’s unconstitutional re-election as president would be implemented in letter and sprit.

“Without eliminating the role of the army and secret agencies in government and in national politics the country could not be steered out of the constitutional, political, economical and social crises,” said the PMAP leader.

He said that the APDM stood for ending the dictatorship, establishment of an interim government of national consensus, free and fair elections under an independent election commission and transfer of power to parliament.—Correspondent
