MANSEHRA, Sept 22: A member of the provincial assembly (MPA), Yasmin Khalid has criticised the government for allegedly freezing development funds meant for her constituency for the past four years.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Ms Khalid described the non-release of funds as injustice with her and with the people of the earthquake-devastated district as except her all other MPAs continued to receive development funds.
The MPA from the ruling Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal said that she had repeatedly approached the departments concerned and high-ups of the government but they did not release funds allocated for her constituency.
She said that due to this situation the workers of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam had lost hope in the MMA and they would “take revenge if the frozen funds were not released immediately”.
Ms Khalid wondered what treatment the government had meted out to the members of opposition parties if she being a member of the ruling coalition had not been given her development funds.
