LAHORE, Sept 20: Students and teachers of the Government Polytechnic Institute for Women, Jain Mandir, staged a demonstration on sixth consecutive day on Thursday and blocked Lytton Road to protest the government’s decision to evict them from the college building.

Earlier, policewomen baton charged the demonstrators to stop them from coming on the road.

The demonstration was part of series of demonstrations students and teachers stage everyday after boycotting academic activities at 10am.

A teachers’ association representative has also threatened a province-wide protest campaign from the next week if the government does not recall its decision.

However, the government is still firm on its decision to relocate the college to an appropriate site.
