KARACHI, March 18: Shell Pakistan Limited (SPL) has awarded the high speed diesel (HSD) tender to three international companies for the supply of 385,000 tons in April-June.
SPL had invited a bid on February 23 for the supply of 110,000 tons of HSD in April followed by two shipments of 55,000 tons and 55,000 tons optional cargo and 110,000 tons for the supply in June.
According to a spokesman of the SPL, on March 8, the industry requested the Shell Pakistan Limited to enhance the tender quantity for April by another 55,000 tons and the quantities were increased accordingly.
He said on March 13, tender bids were opened by the tender committee in the presence of bidders and after a detailed scrutiny, the tender was awarded to Shell Trading Middle East, Fal Oil Company Limited and Vitol Energy S.A. subject to their signing of the contract and fulfilling of all legal formalities as mentioned in the tender. Their bids were found to be the lowest and unconditional.
The price of Shell Trading Middle East is $1.67/bbl, $1.77/ bbl and $1.83/bbl for three shipments of 55,000 tons each for April followed by price ranging between $1.57 to $1.73/bbl offered by Fal Oil for May and June shipment of 220,000 tons, and $1.94/bbl price was given by Vitol for 55,000 tons optional cargo for May.
