HYDERABAD, March 17: The provincial chief of the Jamat-i-Islami, Asadullah Bhutto, has demanded that the Indian extremist organization should be banned and the Muslims of India should be protected as guaranteed under the Liaquat-Nahru pack.

He was speaking at the All Parties Conference organized by the local chapter of his party at the press club here on Saturday.

Mr Bhutto said that the 21st century had started with the massacre of Muslims and alleged that America, India and Israel were united against the Muslims.

He said that America had banned the Jehadi organizations but it had failed to take notice of the genocide of Muslims at the hands of the BJP, VHP and Bajrang Dal.

He condemned the murder of an American journalist and said that everyone, including the Pakistan government, had raised hue and cry over his murder but they had not raised their voice against the massacre of thousands of Muslims in India, Kashmir and Palestine.

Mr Bhutto said that the agencies were chasing the Jehadi elements but they had failed to take notice of the hidden hands in the murders of doctors in Karachi.

PROTEST: The activists of the Peoples Cultural Wing, including women, staged a token hunger strike outside the press club here on Saturday.

They were led by Abdul Aziz Halepoto, Liaquat Ali Shahani and Ms Firdous Abro.

They were protesting against the restrictions against Benazir Bhutto to take part in the ensuing general election, construction of the greater Thal canal and registration of false cases against Ms Bhutto and Asif Zardari.
