LAHORE, Sept 5: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) was moved on Wednesday against former chief minister Shahbaz Sharif, who was declared absconder in a case of fake police encounter in Sabzazar.

The plaintiff, whose son was killed in the encounter along with four others in 1998, asked the court to order Sharif’s arrest and his production in the court.

The plaintiff said he lodged a first information report regarding his son’s killing with the Sabzazar police on April 27, 1998.

He said Sabzazar SHO Babar Ashraf killed his son, Salahuddin, and four others. He said police killed his son in custody and later called it an encounter.

His counsel, Aftab Ahmad Bajwa, prayed to the court to order police, the Federal Investigation Agency and the Interior Ministry to arrest Sharif upon his arrival in Islamabad and produce him in the court.
