BADIN, Sept 2: A complete strike was observed in Badin, Talhar, Tando Bago, Golarchi, Kario Ghanwar, Rajo Khanani and in other areas on Sunday to protest kidnapping of two local journalists.

The PPP district Badin chapter had given the call for the strike.

Haji Khan Lashari and Amar Singh Rathore were kidnapped a few days ago.

All shops, and business centres remained closed. Journalists took out rallies which were joined by various political parties’ activists.

In Golarchi area, a big rally was taken out, led by former MNA and PPP leader Dr Zulfiqar Ali Mirza.

The protesters marched on main city roads and later staged a sit-in on the Badin-Karachi National Highway.

They were raising slogans against Tando Mohammad Khan and Tando Ghulam Hyder police. They demanded immediate recovery of the kidnapped journalists.

In Badin, about 200 journalists staged a demonstration outside Awan-i-Sahafat. Speaking on the occasion, they condemned the incident and failure of Tando Mohammad police in the recovery of kidnapped persons.

They accused the police of not taking serious steps for the release of journalists.
