Man killed in tribal clash

SHIKARPUR, March 14: In a deadly clash between two rival groups of the Junejo tribe one young man was killed while four others received injuries at Mirzapur village, Garhi Yasin Taluka, on Wednesday night.

Six armed men of the Junejo tribe opened fire on their rivals namely Shakeel Ahmed Junejo, 22, and his maternal uncle, Rajab Ali Junejo, when they were standing on a village road. As a result of the firing Shakeel Ahmed Junejo died on the spot, while Rajab Ali Junejo, president of the PPP, Mirzapur union council unit, received serious bullet injuries and was sent to the Civil Hospital, Shikarpur, for medical treatment where his condition was stated serious.

The complainant, Hafizullah Junejo, the brother of the deceased Shakeel Ahmed, has lodged an FIR with the Gaheja police against six men, Imtiaz Ahmed Junejo, the Nazim of Mirzaunion council, his brother, Aijaz Ahmed Junejo, Imran Junejo, Iftikhar Junejo, Arif Junejo and Taufiq Junejo.

Meanwhile, the Gaheja police have also lodged a counter case against six men identified as Rahmatullah Junejo, Ghulam Mohammad Junejo, Subhanal Junejo, Ghulam Mustafa Junejo, Hamadullah Junejo and Manzoor Ahmed Junejo on the report of Rafique Ahmed Junejo.

HIDEOUTS: Four more hideouts of dacoit Faqeer Kamal Shaikh, built in the forest, were destroyed.

DPO Shikarpur Nadir Hussain Khoso told this correspondent that a number of automatic weapons were unearthed while digging the suspected ditches made on the plots on which the huts had been built.
