MUZAFFARGARH, Aug 31: The kits to test HIV patient will be available to all the 13 rural health centers (RHCs) in the Muzaffargarh district during the next two months.
This was stated by Abdul Rauf, district in-charge of the World Food Programme (WFP), while speaking at the concluding session of the workshop held to create awareness about the HIV.
Social workers, union council nazims, doctors, paramedics, teachers and representatives of NGOs participated in the seven-day workshop, which continued from Aug 20 to 28.
Mr Rauf said the HIV tests would be conducted free of cost in all the RHCs.
He said barbers, goldsmiths and quacks were the main contributors to the spread of this fatal disease.
He said the only drug inspector could hardly check some 8,000 quacks `practicing’ in the Muzaffargarh district.
When contacted, drug inspector Qalandar Khan said he was helpless as most of the quacks had friends in the court.
