KARAK, Aug 29: The National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) will observe an enrolment week and will organise awareness walks with the help of the district government in the district.

In this regard, Karak District Nazim Rehmat Salam was briefed by NCHD district general manager Usman Yaqoob here on Wednesday about the enrolment week. He was informed that NCHD and the education department would jointly observe the enrolment week in the district and said that NCHD and the education department would make sure the maximum out of school students back to schools. He said that a walk would be arranged on September 8.

On the occasion, Nazim Salam said that he would visit the education-wise backward Banda Daud Shah Tehsil to ensure 90 per cent enrolment there.

He said he had written letters to all union nazims and councillors to extend every possible support to schoolteachers regarding the enhancement of the enrolment ratio in the district.

He maintained that the elected representatives would also keep close coordination with the Pesh Imams (prayer leaders) who would announce on loudspeakers regarding the enrolment of the out of school children.

The district nazim appreciated the role of the NCHD regarding the enrolment drive and said that NCHD has done remarkable job in the enrolment to increase the literacy rate in the district and the country as well.

DCO Zahir Shah on this occasion also appreciated the role of NCHD regarding the enhancement of the enrolment ratio in the district.
