Strike against PTCL

NAWABSHAH, Aug 28: Members Pak Telecom Employees Union took out a rally and observed token hunger strike opposite the local press club for acceptance of their demands, here on Tuesday.

Rally started from the Main Digital Exchange and culminated at the press club. Protesters were carrying placards and banners and raising slogans against the PTCL administration.

Bashir Ahmed Daudpota, Regional President of Union, Ghulam Hyder Soomro, Ashiq Kaleri and others said the PTCL was depriving the employees of the salary raised by the government since last two years.

They further said the PTCL administration earlier agreed to provide them facilities according to charter of demands but did not implement the same. They further said the employees union was also observing hunger strike outside the Supreme Court in Islamabad for acceptance of their demands.

They demanded the Chief Justice take notice and direct the PTCL to accept their charter of demand.
