PESHAWAR, March 13: A two-member bench of the Peshawar High Court on Wednesday admitted to full hearing a writ petition of former MNA and leader of Sunni Jihad Council, Jawed Ibraheem Paracha, challenging withdrawal of official guard from his security.

The bench comprising Justice Nasirul Mulk and Justice Ijazul Hassan issued notice to the advocate general, NWFP, asking him to appear in person in the application filed for staying the order of the district Nazim through which the official guard was removed. The court ordered that the case should be fixed in next week.

Advocate Qazi Muhammad Anwer appeared for the petitioner and contended that the guard was provided in the wake of sectarian violence. He stated that the guard was provided to the petitioner on the directives of the ministry of interior. He argued that all of a sudden the guard was removed.
