LAHORE, April 23: Pakistan tennis ace Aisam-ul-Haq qualified for the second round of the US Open qualifiers in Flushing Meadows in New York.

In the first round, Aisam defeated Gilles Muller of Luxembourg, who ranks 140 in the world.

The match, which was delayed till afternoon due to rain, was won by Aisam 7-6 (5), 7-6 (7).

He now faces Rogerio Dutra Silva of Brazil in the second round.
