MINGORA, Aug 17: Police on Friday detonated harmlessly an explosive device planted on the main Matta Road in the Bedara area. Matta police officials had been tipped off about the presence of the improvised explosive device fitted inside a pressure-cooker on the road.

Police had to explode the device using dynamite sticks because it was solidly anchored in the road.

Officials believe that the device had been planted to target a police patrol party.—Correspondent
