GUJRANWALA, Aug 16: A boy along with his sister and a cousin drowned in Nullah Palkhu, Wazirabad on Thursday while two others were rescued. Reports said Usman, 8, his sister Raishman and cousin Shaista drowned taking a bath at the bank of Nullah Palkhu near Lowerrey Pulli while two others were rescued. Divers have recovered the bodies.

The children had come from the NWFP to meet their relatives in Lakar Mandi locality of Wazirabad.

SUICIDE: A girl committed while two others attempted suicide over failure in intermediate examination here on Thursday.

Reports said Farwa of Noshera Virkan had appeared in the intermediate examination for the third time but could not get through the exam. Her two friends Ayesha and Mafia also failed.

The girls consumed poison. Farwa died on way to hospital while Ayesha and Mafia are stated to be in a critical condition.
