SAHIWAL, Aug 16: Police killed a proclaimed offender in an “encounter” near Chak 40/EB on Wednesday night. Muhammad Ashraf of Chak 127/9-L was returning home on his motorcycle when two robbers intercepted him and deprived him of his motorcycle. Ashref informed the police. Kamir and Dera Rahim patrol police chased the accused and killed proclaimed offender Mazher Abbas. Police seized the snatched motorcycle, four hand grenades and a 222 rifle. However, Abbas’ accomplice fled. Abbas was a resident of Chak 724/GB Kamal and had broken a judicial lockup in Chichawatni on April 15.
