LAHORE, Aug 16: Four robbers took away cash, jewellery and valuables worth Rs250,000 from the house of Shamshair Khan in Mohalla Salamatpura in Raiwind City on Thursday.
Four armed men barged into the house of Usman in Jauhar Town and made off with cash and valuables, while as many robbers burst into the house of Arif near Jinnah Hospital and took away cash and valuables.
Two gun-toting men burst into the house of Aslam in Mohamdia Colony in Sherakot and fled after looting cash and jewellery worth Rs80,000.
Two armed men stormed into the real estate office of Shafqatullah in Sattokatla and escaped after snatching Rs80,000 in cash and a cell phone.
Three armed men looted cash and a cell phone from a shop in Begum Kot, Shahdara.
STREET CRIME: Afzal was deprived of cash, a cell phone and his car by four car-riders in Nashiman Block, Sattokatla.
Two armed men snatched Rs15,000 in cash, two cell phones and motorcycle from a citizen in Shalimar Scheme.
Aslam was robbed of Rs6,000 and a cell phone in Ittefaq Town in Liaqatabad while Zia was deprived of Rs11,000 in cash and a cell phone in Gulberg.
A woman was deprived of her purse containing cash, jewellery and a cell phone near Regal Chowk, while a man was robbed of cash and a cell phone in Misri Shah.
THEFT: Three maids, Iram, Rukhsna and Shahid, took away cash and valuables worth Rs800,000 from the house of Atif Ameen in North Cantt.
In another incident, thieves broke into the cloth shop of Malik Arshad in Azam Cloth Market and made off with cash and cloth worth Rs800,000.
STOLEN: Three cars were lifted from North Cantt, Ghaziabad and Islampura, while two motorcycles were lifted each from Iqbal Town and Shalimar. Five motorcycles were stolen from Civil Lines, Township, Misri Shah, Shahdara and Mozang.
ACCIDENT: A motorcyclist was hit and killed by a speeding truck in North Cantonment on Thursday.
Police said Tahir Mahmood was going on a bike when a truck hit him on Bahar Shah Road. Mahmood sustained critical injuries and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Both the truck and the motorcycle caught fire soon after the accident. The truck driver fled from the scene.
