MIRPURKHAS, Aug 15: Police produced Raju Bheel, arrested in high profile Mannu Bheel case, in the court of civil judge and judicial magistrate of Digri on Wednesday and sought extension of his remand.
The court extended remand of the accused for a day after the SPO of Satellite Town police station, Abid Kaimkhani, who was inquiry officer, requested the court for extending the remand.
The court directed Mr Kaimkhani to produce the accused in court of second additional and sessions’ judge of Mirpurkhas on Aug 16 and also submit a progress report.
Mr Raju was remanded for four days in police custody after he was arrested near Naukot. Two other accused, Shabbir Kaimkhani and Manzoor Chanhio, were still at large.
three injured: A dispute between a man and his wife left three people seriously injured in Lakho Unnar village in Old Mirpur union council on Wednesday.
The exchange of hot words between Noor Mohammad and his wife spiralled into a clash after the wife’s relatives, Ismail Alias Aesho, Amjad, Soomar alias Jumo and Sain Bux attacked the husband and his brothers, Aijaz and Mumtaz with knives and sticks and injured them seriously.
They were moved to Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas.
Old Mirpur police lodged a case against the accused and two unidentified persons and arrested Ismail alias Aesho, Amjad, Soomar Alias Jumo and Sain Bux on the complainant Mir Mohammad Burfat.
Mr Burfat told journalists that a medical officer at the Civil Hospital, Dr Mohammad Moosa Leghari, refused to admit his three seriously injured brothers after taking bribes from the rival group.
They were admitted after the intervention of Syed Babu Shah, nazim of union council Old Mirpur, he said and added that he had also submitted an application to the civil surgeon against the medical officer.
GANG BUSTED: Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested ringleader and six members of a gang, which they said was involved in illegal gambling.
The Station House Officer (SHO) of Town police station, Allan Abbasi, told journalists that police found material used in Aakra parchi gambling including fax machine, keyboards, computer, calculators and a photo-stat machine in the gang’s possession.
Police conducted raid on their den near the Shewaji Road after receiving a tip-off and arrested Shabbir, Jamali alias Shahnawaz, Mohammed Nasir, Noor Nabi, Ashraf, Aqeel Kamali and Mohammed Ali, the alleged ring leader, he said.
