Man ‘shoots’ mother

LAHORE, Aug 14: A 65-year-old woman was shot dead allegedly by her son over a minor issue in Kot Lakhpat on Tuesday.

Police said Hamidan wife of Ashiq of Ittehad Colony had admonished her son Shahid for purchasing an expensive cell phone. Shahid was angered and opened fire at his mother, leaving her dead at the scene.

BODY FOUND: The Akbari Gate police on Tuesday recovered decomposed body of an old man from his rented house in Mohalla Chabak Sawanran. Police said Rasool Khan, 80, had some medical complications.

Robberies: Four robbers took away cash, valuables and a car in Sattokatla on Tuesday.

Armed men barged into the house of Shahzad in Valencia Town and held him and his family at gunpoint.

The intruders disconnected telephone wires and locked all the inmates in a room. They collected cash, foreign currency, gold ornaments, three weapons, four cell phones and drove away with their car (LZV-2423).

Afzal, a resident of Johar Town, was on his way on his car (LEA-6450) in Sattokatla when four armed men stopped him near Shaukat Khanum Hospital and snatched his vehicle.

The police have registered a case.

In another incident, Khalid Mahmood, of Mandi Stop, PECO Colony, was on way on his car (LEA-8395) when three gun-totting men stopped him near Rohi nullah, Mohlanwal and took away his car.—Staff Reporter
