Villagers kill two dacoits

BAHAWALPUR, Aug 10: Villagers killed two of the eight fleeing dacoits who shot dead the son of a pen owner at Sonak Baila village near Uch Sharif, about 70 kilometres from here on Friday.

Police sources said that eight gangsters came to the pen of Allah Diwaya and tried to take away his cattle. On raising an alarm, the dacoits shot dead Aamir. In the meanwhile, villagers gathered there and opened fire, killing two dacoits on the spot while rest of their accomplices managed to escape. The dead dacoits were later identified as Akram and Yasin.

Ahmedpur East DSP Irfan said the police were chasing the fleeing dacoits.
