LAHORE, Aug 8: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a financial package for its retired Test, ODI, first-class umpires, besides increasing the remuneration of the current umpires and scorers.

Announcing to the packages, PCB’s Director Cricket Operations Zakir Khan said a retired Test umpire would get Rs500,000, ODI umpires Rs300,000 and all other grade umpires Rs200,000 respectively. In case of death of any umpire, his widow or children would be the beneficiaries, he said.

As a result of this announcement, 10 Test umpires, three ODIs and five first-class umpires would be receiving the amounts.

The names of the two Test umpires who have passed away are Amanullah and Shakoor Rana and those who are retired include Mahboob Shah, Khalid Aziz, Javed Akhtar, Khizar Hayat, Ferozuddin Butt, Athar Zaidi, Said Shah and Ikram Rabbani. While Azhar Hasan, Rab Nawaz, Masroor Ali are the ODI umpires. The first-class umpires are Tariq Cheema, Mohammad Iqbal, Saleem Khan, Tahir Hasan and Talat Farooq.

PCB umpires general manager Khizar Hayat said that only those umpires were eligible for this benefit who had at least performed duties for 10 years and honourably retired before 2007. Umpires who were sacked on disciplinary grounds would not be entitled to these benefits.

According to Zakir Khan, PCB also increased the match fees for Test and international as well as domestic matches. The details are as follows:

For Test matches:

TV Umpire from Rs20,000 to Rs60,000. Reserve umpire from Rs20,000 to Rs50,000 One-day Internationals:

Field umpires from Rs25,000 to Rs80,000. TV umpires from Rs12,000 to Rs40,000. Reserve umpires from Rs12,000 to Rs25,000.

Junior tours:

Field umpires from Rs2,500 to Rs5000 per day. Daily Allowance from Rs2,000 to Rs3,000 per day

Scorers:

Test match:

From Rs15,000 per match to Rs20,000. For ODIs from Rs3,000 to Rs5,000 per match. National tournaments from Rs1,000 to Rs1,200 per day.

For Junior tours: From Rs1,000 to Rs2,000 per day.

Domestic match fees for umpires:

Elite Panel:

Match fees: From Rs2,000 to Rs2,500 as daily allowance.

Grade-I umpires: Rs2,000 as match fees and Rs1,500 as daily allowance.

Grade-II: Rs1,500 as match fees and Rs1,200 as daily allowance.

Grade-III: Rs1,200 as match fees and Rs 1000 as daily allowance.

Similarly the fees of referees had also been increased as follows:

Elite panel: Rs3,000 as match fee and Rs2,500 as daily allowance.

Grade-II: Rs2,000 as match fee and Rs2,000 as daily allowance.
