Money dispute claims 3 lives

FAISALABAD, March 10: Three people were killed and another was injured over a money dispute at Chak No 397 GB, Tandlianwala, on Sunday night.

Members of Zafar Iqbal and Muhammad Alam groups exchanged hot words during a panchayat (arbitration) meeting convened to settle a financial dispute between them.

Zafar and his brother Mujahid Iqbal stabbed and injured Alam, Mushtaq Ahmad, Barkat Ali and Jamshed with knives and escaped.

The injured were taken to a nearby hospital where Alam, Mushtaq and Barkat died while the condition of Jamshed was stated to be critical.

Tandlianwala police sent the bodies to the Allied hospital for postmortem. No arrest has been made till the filing of this report.

In another incident, a mill worker was shot dead by one of his colleague over a financial dispute near Panj Pulian stop.

Soba Khan was a resident of Peshawar and had been working with a local textile unit on Faisalabad-Sargodha Road. The killer could not be identified.
