KARACHI, July 27: Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik said on Friday he believed that Pakistan's new coach Geoff Lawson could transfer some of the winning mentality and spirit of world champions Australia to his team.

Lawson, a former Australian paceman, was appointed Pakistan coach earlier this month and joins the team on Aug 20 ahead of the inaugural Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa in September.

Malik told Reuters: “The players are very happy that Lawson has joined us. He is an Australian - born and bred in their cricket system and there is no doubt the Australian cricket system is the best in the world today.”
