MITHI, July 26: Taluka Nazim Chhachhro Dilawar Khan Malkani has urged Nazims of union councils and revenue officials to take notice of the government land brought under cultivation unlawfully.

Taluka Nazim brought it to notice of the UC Nazims, Mukhtiarkar and Patwaris at a meeting held on public complaints that a vast area of the government land reserved as “gauchar” (grazing pastures) and “asaish” (easement) in the surrounding of towns and villages had been brought under cultivation by local growers.

Many growers had forcibly brought the land under cultivation obstructing the way to cattle pens, wells, water ponds, fields, graveyards and jungle while decreasing the area for grazing of cattle heads. This had given rise to land disputes among growers.

Taluka Nazim said the livelihood of most Tharis was rearing of cattle but unlawful cultivation had destroyed the pasture by reducing the number of trees and bushes besides creating shortage of fodder.
