BAHAWALPUR, July 25: Six armed people shot dead an under-trial killer in police custody on Tuesday near Chachran Sharif. Policemen were transporting Muhammad Ayub Manak in a police van from court to the Rukanpur police station. When attackers opened firing on the van, the escorting guards ran away. The attackers dragged Ayub out of the van and after killing him, chopped off his head. The gruesome killing is believed be revenge of the murder of Yasin Jatoi, allegedly murdered by the Manak clan.

Rukanpur police registered a case.
