KARACHI, July 20: A dozen ships carrying containers, chemicals and to load cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity on the wharves was modest where five ships, Eric C. Gibson, Hyundai Highway to unload and load container, Liberty-3 to offload wheat, Jaikur-3 with general cargo and Lalazar to offload crude oil were berthed after the departure of four.The ships, which departed were led by Swat, Iran, Sattari, Y.M. Fortune, and Sinar Bandung, while Hyundai Highway, Eric C. Gibson, Hansa Stavanger, Deco Xing, Emirate Meru, Lalazar, Blue Seas and B. Europa are due to sail out on Saturday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was fairly active as the total tonnage rose to 0.116m tons comprising 31,079 tons of export cargo and 84,608 tons of import tonnage.
The following ships are due on Saturday: Chemstar Brave with chemicals, Sun Flower to load ethanol, Olympic Eternity with crude oil, Soraya, Industrial Dawa, Soon Fu and Oel Spirit with containers, Grand Hero with 1,640 cars, Sea Brilliance with coal, Al-Wakara to load cement and Ocean Frontier to load clinkers.
