PPP sees plot behind capital blast

FAISALABAD, July 19: The local leadership of Pakistan People’s Party has termed the bomb explosion in Islamabad a conspiracy against them allegedly hatched by the government and its aides.

At a joint press conference here on Thursday, party’s divisional coordinator MPA Raja Riaz Ahmed and district president Farooq Saeed said it was a bomb blast rather than a suicidal attack that killed PPP workers present in a camp that had been set up to welcome Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.

It was the `Mullah-Military Alliance’ which hatched the conspiracy of planting bomb to sabotage the struggle of the party, they alleged.

Despite killings of resolute workers, the party would continue its struggle for the restoration of true democracy in the country.

They demanded immediate arrest of the criminals involved in the blast.

Earlier, ‘Ghaibana’ funeral prayers for the deceased workers were offered at the district council lawn.
