LAKKI MARWAT, July 17: Bandits hijacked a bus at gunpoint near the Kurram bridge on the Indus Highway and robbed passengers of cash and valuables on Tuesday morning, according to officials.

They said that about a dozen bandits stopped a passenger bus (JA-6464) at gunpoint and took it off the road, where they deprived the passengers of cash, wrist watches, cell-phones and other valuables. The bus was going to Shangla district from Hyderabad.

After robbers fled the area, the passengers blocked the road in protest against increasing insecurity and cases of robbery on roads.

The robbery took place in the jurisdiction of the Dadiwala police station. Local police officials reached the roadblock and assured the passengers of action against the robbers.
