PESHAWAR, July 11: The recent amendments made in the Income Tax Ordinance 2001 are aimed at increasing the revenue collection, documentation of economic activities, widening of tax base and simplification of tax laws.

The director-general, regional tax office, Abida Ali, said this at a seminar organised by the tax office here on Tuesday to educate tax officers on the amendments.

The secretary income tax policy highlighted certain aspects of the amendments and answered the questions raised by the participants.—Correspondent
