SOUTH WAZIRISTAN, July 3: In pursuance of the directives of NWFP Governor Ali Muhammad Jan Aurakzai, three trucks loaded with relief goods, including tents, blankets and edibles, were sent to the rain-affected areas of South Waziristan Agency on Tuesday.
The trucks were received by Assistant Political Officer of South Waziristan Agency Khaista-ur-Rehman who sent them to the affected tehsils of Ladha, Sarokai and Wana. The relief goods would be distributed on Wednesday.
According to the political administration, more trucks carrying relief goods would be sent in the next three to four days.
Meanwhile, the governor has directed the political administration of the South Waziristan Agency to send a detailed report about the damage caused by rains in their area to ensure timely supply of relief goods to the affected people.
South Waziristan Agency Political Agent Hussain Zada Khan has directed all assistant political agents to take every possible step for the provision of relief goods to the affected people.
The political agent has put the Khasadar Force on high alert to rescue the marooned people, and appealed to elders and religious scholars of the area to support the administration in the relief operations.
