LRC to hold two races in a week

Published July 3, 2007

LAHORE, July 2: The Lahore Race Club (LRC) has decided to hold races twice a week from September, LRC chairman Tariq Aziz told Dawn on Sunday. He said the club had been run on no loss and no profit basis by holding races twice a week but for certain reasons it had to curtail its programme to once a week racing which has resulted in financial loss.

At present, the estimated loss per week stands at about Rs350,000.

Therefore, the LRC has decided to restart organising the races twice a week.

In the meantime, some measures were being taken to tap other resources to make up the losses.—AG
