LAHORE, July 2: The Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (Passco) has closed its wheat procurement campaign after meeting a 97.6 per cent target. In a statement issued here on Monday, a Passco spokesman said the corporation had procured 1,269 million tons of wheat against a target of 1.3 million. It had also a carryover stock of 0.232 million tons from the crop of 2006.

The total wheat stock being held by Passco was thus 1.5 million tons which exceeded the target, he said.
