Robbers shoot at man on resistance

LAHORE, July 1: Two robbers shot a man and injured him on resistance in Liaqatabad on Sunday.

Two armed men riding a motorcycle held Muhammad Sajid on Peco Road and demanded cash and cell phone from him. On resistance, robbers fired at him and took away cash and his cell phone. He was rushed to the Lahore General Hospital.

Two armed men stopped Asad in China Scheme and deprived him of Rs1,500 and a cell phone. Two robbers held a citizen, whose name could not be ascertained, near Doctors’ Hospital in Johar Town and took away a cell phone, a wallet, a watch and a ring from him.

Two armed men held a family at Raheel Street in Sodiwal and deprived them of cash, a purse, jewellery and a cell phone.

Two gunmen held a man, whose identity could not be ascertained, at Qilla Lakshman Singh on Ravi Road and deprived him of his wallet and a cell phone.

Three motorcycles were snatched at gunpoint from Main Ferozpur Road Ichhra, Qilla Gujjar Singh and Link Road Shalimar.

STOLEN: Three motorcycles were stolen from Factory Area, North Cantt and Shahdra.

MURDER: A 26-year-old woman was shot dead allegedly by her brother-in-law in Shahdra Town on Saturday.

Police said Babar took his brother Muhammad Anwer’s wife, Maryam Bibi, of Ludhar village, outside her house at 11pm and shot her dead.

Anwar informed the police that he had found the body of Maryam, mother of three, in the fields.

The deceased’s brother Yousaf told police his father had killed Babar’s sister 14 years ago after which they had reconciled with each other and arranged the marriage of Maryam with Babar’s brother Anwar. Yousaf said both families were leading normal life but this incident could be the result of revenge.
