KARACHI, June 27: The governing body of the Sindh Employees Social Security Institution (Sessi) has approved a Rs1, 261.996 million budget for the year 2007-08 showing a surplus of Rs179.722 million.
The budget was presented by Sessi Commissioner Mohammad Akhtar Ghori at a meeting which was chaired by Sindh Minister for Labour, Transport, Industries and Commerce Mohammad Adil Siddiqui and attended by all representatives of the employers and employees, besides Labour Secretary Nasar Hayat, governing body members and the officials concerned.Speaking on the occasion, Mr Siddiqui appreciated the progress achieved by Sessi and observed a regular increase in the number of secured workers and employers’ contribution towards the scheme. He set the target of secured workers for the new fiscal at 440,000.
Earlier, the Sessi Commissioner said that the total outlay of Rs1,261.996m included contribution, return on investments and income from other sources.—PPI
