LAHORE, June 25: The Jammaatul Daawa staged a demonstration outside the Lahore Press Club on Monday to condemn the conferring of knighthood on Salman Rushdie.

Jamaat workers displayed banners and placards and raised slogans against Rushdie. They said it was the religious duty of the Muslims to “murder blasphemer Rushdie”. —Reporter
