MUZAFFARABAD, June 22: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned 1,613 posts of tutors for single-teacher primary schools in the region.
Talking to journalists here on Friday, Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan described the move as a big leap towards educational reforms. He said the new recruitments would benefit 839 schools for boys and 774 schools for girls in the eight AJK districts.
He said the appointments would be made on contract basis and those possessing high qualifications and experience and residing near the respective schools would be given preference. Contracts will be renewed every year on the basis of attendance and performance of teachers. After five years, the government may consider confirming services of teachers who show good results.
