Four more killed in tribal feud

SHIKARPUR, June 22: Mahar and Jatoi feud claimed four more lives while seven sustained serious bullet injuries in the district on Friday.

According to details, four persons identified as Nabi Bux Jatoi, Shahnawaz Jatoi, Aque Jatoi and Khan Mohammad Mahar were killed while seven others including Bhooro Jatoi, Mansoor Jatoi, Ali Murad Jatoi, Mushtaq Jatoi, Ali Khan Mahar, baby Naheed Sethar, and Irshad Mahar were seriously injured in separate armed clashes took place between Mahar and Jatoi tribesmen in village Tarat Jatoi, Juma Mahar village, Nimoro Link Road and near Mehmoodabad in the jurisdiction of Lakhi, Rustam, Mehmoodabad and Daim Malik police stations.

The injured were sent to Shikarpur, Lakhi and Larkana hospitals in serious condition.

Not a single FIR of these incidents was registered till the filing of this report.

Police reached the spots and brought the situation under control. However, tension prevailed in the area.

Mahar and Jatoi tribal dispute is going on since last some years which claimed scores of lives and compromises made many times between the rival parties through Jirgas but the feud remained unresolved.
