LAHORE, March 4: PML (Quaid-i-Azam) President Mian Muhammad Azhar has expressed concern over the serious water crisis in the country and called for the construction of big and small dams for solving the water shortage problem.
Mian Azhar was talking to District Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood, union council Nazims and councillors, who reached his residence on Monday to congratulate him on the ‘successful’ tour of Sindh.
He said that delay in the construction of dams could convert the country into a desert like Thar and Cholistan.
He said that the people of Sindh were also perturbed over the serious water crisis and wanted its solution. They were also concerned about the increase in incidences of unemployment and kidnapping for ransom.
The PML would use its influence to solve the problems. The people of Sindh wanted to get rid of the exploitative ‘wadera shahi’ system also. The PML would not disappoint them.
He said that vandalism by PPP against PML during his Sindh tour was a proof of the loss of its popularity and political retreat. He said that the PML did not believe in the politics of violence but would bury the PPP ‘goonda’ politics for good with the support of the people.
He said that the Punjab would have to raise its voice for the rights of the smaller provinces for political stability in the country. He said that the policy of limiting the development process to certain specific areas had created a sense of depravation among the people of the neglected areas. The policy would have to be changed and the neglected areas would have to be attended to for redressing the grievances of the people.
Mian Amer congratulated Mian Azhar on his successful tour of Sindh and said that those coming to power through deals and conspiracies were perturbed over the growing popularity of the PML in Sindh.
He said that corrupt politicians and their henchmen were not in a position to confront the PML in the political arena.
