NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, June 19: A large number of people, including political activists and old students of the Naushahro Feroze School, took out a rally from press club to the DCO office on Tuesday demanding removal of encroachments from the school ground.

They were led by the PPP MNA Syed Zafar Ali Shah, Naib Nazim UC Naushahro Feroze Dr Abdul Qadeer, academician Faqir Mohammad Memon and vice president DBA Abdul Salam.

Zafar Ali Shah said that the people including those who had studied in the school were witness to the fact that there was a Katcha road on the west

of school ground and no government land was lying there. Now, the school land had been encroached upon with shops constructed.

He expressed surprise that all this was being done right under the nose of DCO as Officers daily pass through this road.

Dr Abdul Qadeer, Master Faqeer Mohammad, Mohammad Hashim Khoso and others warned district officers to open their eyes, listen to people and stop supporting encroachers.

Later protesters dispersed peacefully.

ESCAPE: Referring to press reports about escape of three accused in a kidnapping case, the DPO Irfan Baloch has said that police had neither arrested Urs Khoso, Munir and Bashir, nor handed them to investigation police.

He told Dawn that an FIR under section 365-A and 342 PPC was lodged in the kidnapping case of advocate Rashid Bohio against Iqbal, Ali Hassan, Rab Nawaz, Zakir Hussain Khoso, Urs Khoso, Naseer Lund, Nabo alias Basheer, Roshan alias Khandi, Laung, Jafar, Mumtaz, Ghulam Mustafa, Gulsher, Anwar Machhi, Anwar Lund.

He said Iqbal, Ali Hassan and Rab Nawaz were arrested and others were absconding. The DPO said that investigation police submitted challan of the case in the ATC court Sukkur on January 1, 2007.

The SP Investigation Gul Mohammad Sher said neither investigation police arrested Urs Khoso and two brothers Munir and Basheer, nor they escaped from their custody. He said he had gone for Umrah and returned recently and added investigation police might had arrested them when he was away.

He said that he appointed the DSP Mohammad Ismail as inquiry officer who will submit his report within one week.

When contacted an official of investigation police Naushahro Feroze said that Urs, Muneer and Basheer were not in their custody. He said, however, police had arrested Nabo Leghari and were going to submit supplementary challan in the ATC court Sukkur on Wednesday.

However, sources said that the Urs, Basheer and Muneer were arrested by investigation police but as a result of deal, they had been released.

ACCIDENT: Two young boys were killed in two different incidents

on Tuesday.

Saindad, 14, was going on donkey cart when it hit a tree near village Qabil Mangrio. He died on the spot. Mohammad Iqbal, 20, was on his way on a motorcycle when a truck hit him in Halani, killing him on the spot.

EMBEZZLEMENT: Anti-corruption police Naushahro Feroze submitted challan in a case of embezzlement against food supervisor in the court of special judge for anti-corruption on Tuesday.

According to press release issued by anti-corruption circle officer Naushahro Feroze, Mohammad Moosa Mastoi submitted a challan against food supervisor Ahmed Khan Rahepoto for embezzlement of Rs975,720 while purchasing wheat.
