MIANWALI, June 19: On public pressure, Musakhel police registered a kidnap for ransom case three days after the incident on Tuesday on the complaint of its SHO.

Kidnapped owner-cum-driver Mushtaq’s parents, however, have not yet contacted police and are negotiating with the kidnappers to secure his release.

It is learnt that the kidnappers gave Tuesday’s deadline to “either pay Rs1 million ransom or receive the body.”

According to FIR, accused Ramzan alias Mana, resident of Vichvin Bala, hired wagon (Jl-2388) to transport his donkey cart to Shadia village. When the wagon reached near Wan Bhachran, the accused forced Mushtaq at gunpoint to Chidro Road. He handed him over to his accomplices already waiting in Chidro mountains. The kidnappers abandoned the wagon there and took Mushtaq with them leaving behind his assistant Ansar with message to send Rs1 million.

It may be noted that kidnap for ransom cases are on the rise in the area and in most of cases, the kidnapped people secure their release after paying ransom. In all the incidents, the kidnappers hide on Chidro mountains and police are helpless to arrest them.
