ISLAMABAD, March 4: Chief Election Commissioner Justice (Rtd) Irshad Hasan Khan has said the Election Commission would act with neutrality, objectivity, impartiality and independence at every stage of the electoral process.

The CEC was talking to Kurt Juul, the European Union ambassador and Pedro Martinez-Vargas, the Counsellor of EU, delegation of the European Commission to Pakistan here on Monday.

“The EU delegation was extensively briefed by the CEC on the preparation of electoral rolls and delimitation of constituencies.

“In order to demonstrate the credibility of the election process, the foreign observers, including the observers from National Democratic Institute of United States, European Union and Commonwealth, would be welcomed to determine the transparency of the election process,” he said.

Mr Juul expressed his appreciation for the efforts the CEC has so far made for the preparation of the electoral rolls and desired to look forward for further interaction.— Our Reporter
