NAWABSHAH, June 18: The nursing staff of Nawabshah Medical College Hospital observed strike and demonstrated inside hospital premises on Monday against the attitude of a doctor with two nurses.
The nursing staff boycotted duties, demonstrated outside their hostel and raised slogans for justice.
General Secretary of Nursing Federation, Sarwat and others including Farhat Kharal, Zarina Dahiri said Dr Hashim Larik had misbehaved with two nurses in the neuro surgery ward.
They alleged the doctor was drunk and also tried to molest them but was taken home by the hospital administration instead of getting medically checked. They further said that the administration assured action against the said doctor but nothing had happened.
Deputy Medical Superintendent of the NMC Hospital Dr Naseer Ahmed Shaikh said a detailed report had been sent to secretary health and the doctor would be transferred soon. Later, on the assurance of administration, nursing staff called off their protest.
Patients suffered due to the strike of nursing staff.
HUNGER STRIKE: A woman with her children observed token hunger strike outside the press club on Monday to protest against a builder for encroaching upon her land.
Husun Bano told reporters that an influential builder had encroached upon her plot on Sanghar road and alleged that the same builder transferred her property by producing forged documents. She said that she had all legal documents of the property but the builder was busy in selling it.
She asked of the chief minister and Governor Sindh to look into the matter and threatened to commit suicide if justice was not provided to her.
Later, her camp was removed by the local police.
