LAHORE, June 18: The Punjab Quran Board has started installation of 50 green boxes along the canal bank and other parts of the city for the collection of torn pages and worn-out copies of the holy Quran.

Board Chairman Qari Muhammad Hanif Jallandhri and Punjab Auqaf Minister Sahibzada Sayed Saeedul Hassan Shah have appealed to the people to put such pages in the boxes instead of disposal in the canal or river.

The board would ensure disposal of the material in accordance with the religious injunctions.
