LPP leader jailed

LAHORE, June 7: Secretary-General Labour Party Pakistan Farooq Tariq was sent to the central jail in Bahawalpur on Thursday for three months. The LPP leader was arrested on June 5 and had been detained under section 16 of the maintenance of Public Order Ordinance.

The party condemned Mr Tariq’s detention and demanded his immediate release.
