BAHAWALNAGAR, June 3: The city police claimed on Sunday to have recovered three labourers from the private jail of the Bahawalnagar flour mill owner whom they arrested after a raid.
Muhammad Qasim reported to the city police that Chaudhry Rashid Husain, the owner of the Bahawalnagar flour mill, had detained his son Shahbaz and his friend Ghulam Rasool in his private jail where he tortured them on charges of wheat theft.
He said the two youngsters had been labourers in the flour mill and had not been paid their wages amounting to Rs45,000. On constant demand for payment of their outstanding wages, Chaudhry Rashid accused them of stealing wheat and tortured them in his private torture cell for several days.
The police conducted a raid and recovered the two friends and another labourers from the torture cell. They arrested the mill owner and registered a case against him under section 365/342 of PPC.
