JACOBABAD, June 3: Four villages were inundated as Naun Canal developed a 20-foot breach near Khuda Bux Khabar village on Sunday.

The gushing water submerged standing crops on hundreds of acres, causing heavy losses to growers. The inundated villages included Khuda Bux and Sodho Buriro Goth and Allahabad.

The villagers plugged the breach on self-help basis as staff of the irrigation department failed to reach the place of the breach.

Affected villagers, who were sitting under open sky, asked higher authorities to provide relief to them.—PPI
